Some weeks ago we show you how to test the new design of Google Chrome on Android with the new lines of design Material Design 2.0, which is known as Material Theming , although in the case of Google Chrome for Android was called Modern Design. Well, the new design is also coming to Chrome for the desktop versions, and here’s how to activate it.
The first thing that we must mention is that the new design of Google Chrome works on both Windows and Mac, but we can’t use it in the version “normal”, to do this we will have to download Google Chrome Canary, which is the version with functions experimental Google.
To download Chrome Canary , you can do so from this direct link of Google. Once you have Google Chrome Canary, now we can test the new design.
In the case of Windows, the configuration with the design Theming Design already comes by default, but in the case of Mac we will have to make a couple of adjustments very simple.
- In the browser put the following address: chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md
- Subsequently we look for the option “Refresh” and activate it.
- Now we are going to chrome://flags/#views-browser-windows and select “Enabled”.
- When you restart Chrome, and you now have the new design.
As we can see, the new design is much more clean and minimalist, and besides that predominates the white color and the bends in the edges. On the other hand, some buttons and functions have been redesigned.
We don’t know when it will be available the new design on the regular version of Google Chrome, however, it is likely that the fact that it is already available in Chrome Canary arrive soon to all users of the world.
