Dr. Enrique de la Morena: Flu Yamagata

We are in the middle of winter, which is when flu is most active in the human. For this reason, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends (always the first of fall) to get vaccinated to avoid this disease. Usually most countries charge the trivalent vaccine to the companies that manufacture them. Since September is available to users. Each year, the WHO makes public what virus they are studying scientists of the five continents.

The virus, Influenze flu is derived from three strains: A-B and C. The first of them, A, is common in wild aquatic birds and also in the man. The B strain is the most common in the human and the strain C in the pigs, the dogs and, also, in the man.

The trivalent vaccine of this academic year 2017-2018 contains two a strains and one B:

A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)

A/Hong-Kong/4801/2014/ (H3N2)

B/Brisbane/60/2007-Lineage Victoria

The quadrivalent includes the Strain : a B/Phuket/3073/2013. Lineage Yamagata.

This virus was found in 1998 in a town called Yamagata in Japan, and is the virus that is causing the epidemic in Spain: if you had bought the quadrivalent and vaccinated the population, we would not have suffered this disease.

For those who already have what treatment do you have? Is mandatory in the consumption of juices and, for aches and fever, acetaminophen. And, of course, high doses of patience and rest at home, that is what ends up overcoming this ailment.
