You know Qualcomm as the maker of mobile processors, but the company is also working on its own virtual reality headset. Running of course on a cpu of the manufacturer itself and works without a smartphone, pc, or external sensors.
Most interesting is the collaboration with Tobii, a company that specializes in ‘eye tracking’. That is to say that the headset know which direction you look up, even when your head does not move.
As you can in a shooter game, for example, to look up, and the image moves with it. For the time being, however, a concept that is still not available. A price is not yet known.
