Doubling in number of Video subscribers

The Dutch streaming service Videoland has a good year behind us. It saw a doubling in the number of subscribers, for now a total of 400,000 customers. Netflix continues to be the largest service for video-on-demand.

That reports Telecompaper today. According to the research firm, comes the time more often for that Videoland-users after the free trial period, switching to a paid subscription. The service expanded over time, its offering of exclusive series and movies with the much talked about titles such as The Handmaid’s Tale and the newest season of Twin Peaks. Partly because of Videoland is part of the RTL, there is also a wide range of English material.

Longer look

Netflix remains head and shoulders above the competition protrude and is still the most popular streaming service. A third of all Dutch households have a Netflix subscription, which is good for 2.4 million subscribers. Also stream we are all together every time longer. As we are now, on average, 27 minutes per day, on-demand, in 2015, it was 15 minutes per day. Also, we are looking each time more via smartphone than via the tv, which is particularly the case for teenagers.
