WhatsApp test mutual payment function

WhatsApp is testing a new feature, where users from the chat app mutual funds to each other can transfer. Provisionally, this works only in India, where the app whopping 200 million users know.

WhatsApp users need their bank account details to the app to link, and their phone number to verify by sms. Then they can transfer money to friends from the same menu as where normally photos, videos, and such to be shared.

Not yet in the Netherlands

WhatsApp owner, Facebook introduced last year in some countries also a similar payment function in Facebook Messenger. In both cases, there is no question of support for the Netherlands. Little offers in our country a similar opportunity, an initiative of ABN Amro. A request for payment is then via WhatsApp shared. Then, the recipient can pay through iDeal.
