The teachers have a task that is very important, as they teach future generations and to mark our growth. Who does not remember your favorite teacher from school?
Give us lessons of life and of teaching, the problem is that many of them have been providing information for years that is not as certain as previously thought. Today we ripped down the biggest myths and mistakes that have made us think that the reality was a completely different way to how it is.
Myths and errors that we were taught in school

4 – Discovery of America
Despite what you learned in school, Columbus did not discover America at all, in fact did not put even a foot in North America. Columbus came to central America but spent the greater part of his time in The Caribbean. So you just discovered part of this area.
5 – The Witches of Salem
It is believed that many people were burned at the stake, being accused of witchcraft. The story says the opposite, that no one was burned at the stake but that they were hanged.
6 – George Washington
Ten years after his death, wrote a biography that told the story of why Washington lied never. With the passage of time, historians have considered that this story was a lie and was only created to enlarge his legend.
7 – Planets of the Solar System
We always taught that the Solar System consisted of 9 planets, including the Earth. A few years ago astronomers decided not to include Pluto in the solar system, because they did not meet all the criteria that scientists believe are necessary to be considered a planet of this system.
8 – chewing Gum
How many times have you said that if you swallow chewing gum it will take years to digest it? It is a myth because your body ejects it at the same time another type of food that you have ingested. The only difference is that not processed or rolled back.
9 – The five senses
We humans have five senses: sight, touch, taste, hearing and smell. Today it is considered that there are many other qualities of the human body, such as the balance, which may be called senses.
10 – Your brain does not heal
The cells of your brain do not regenerate or that you have counted because in fact, do. This process is called neurogenesis, and it occurs daily in our brain. For example, older people regenerate about 700 cells per day.
11 – The pyramids

The food pyramid that we are taught at school it is not that we should do to lead a balanced diet.
13 – Crack the fingers
There are many people who have the mania of cracked fingers constantly. Has spread the belief that this can lead to arthritis, but with the time it has been determined that there is a direct relationship with this disease. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t affect us.

We have been told that our language uses different sectors to identify the flavors. It is a myth, as our tongue can taste all kinds of nuances such as sweet, salty, etc., in all its parts.
17 – Life without color
It is completely false the belief that women can’t see only black and white. It is true that women and men have a different view, but it does not mean that it is impossible to see in black-and-white.
18 – Write in italics
Some teachers have the belief that as we get older, we find it easier to write in cursive. It is one of the techniques of writing more difficult to refine but it does not mean they can’t learn it children.
19 – Slaves
It has always been said that Abraham Lincoln was against slavery and although he finished with her, she is exactly as you have told us.
